Summary

Working under the supervision of the Head of Information Management you will provide key IT support within HALO's Somaliland programme. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who would like to accelerate their ICT career in a sector-leading organisation. This position is located at our office in  Hargeisa. The successful candidate will liaise with the Head Office in the UK and external service providers in Somaliland to ensure systems are working to optimum levels.

Responsibilities

-          Implement information security technical controls and ensure that information security policies    and copyright and data protection laws are upheld.

-          Develop and maintain ICT documentation.

-          Assist end users in all aspects of IT support.

-          Set up, or assist with, maintaining and administering desktops, servers, computer networks, printers, fixed and mobile telephones, software and other IT peripherals.


-           Maintain the inventory of all ICT assets (software and hardware)


-          Manage the backup of data and systems and assist in disaster recovery.

-          Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of information security awareness training for colleagues.

-          Investigate security alerts and incidents and provide incident response.

-          Engage with internet providers as needed.

-          Manage the Sharepoint of HALO Somaliland, including data migration from the physical server.

-           Provide technical support and troubleshooting for remote staff and field teams.

-          Assist with the management and monitoring of cloud-based services and applications (e.g. Office 365, Sharepoint, file storage)

-          Facilitate the procurement and deployment of new hardware and software, ensuring proper licensing and configurations.

-          Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets and software licenses.

-          Perform regular backups and restoration tests to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.

-           Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues between the  Hargeisa office and field locations.

-           Provide training and guidance to end-users on the proper use of IT systems and security best practices.

-          Collaborate with the HQ IT team to align regional IT policies, standards and procedures.

-           Assist with the implementation and maintenance of IT security controls such as antivirus, firewalls, access management.

-          Document technical workflows, processes and configurations for knowledge transfer and business continuity.

-          Participate in technology planning and roadmap discussions to identify opportunities for     process improvements or new solutions.

-          Act as the primary point of contact for IT-related inquiries and liaise with external vendors/providers as needed.

-          Any other ICT-related tasks as requested and needed by HALO Somaliland


Skills and Qualifications
Essential skills and experience

-          Existing experience working in a similar position.

-          Bachelor's degree related to ICT.

-          Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

-          Experienced in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).

-          Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

-          Hands-on experience with project management tools and techniques.

-          Ability to analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions.

-          Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.

-          Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-          Presentation and facilitation skills for technical discussions.

-          Willingness to stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

-          Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technological environments.

-          OneDrive/SharePoint Online.

-          Microsoft 365 desktop apps for enterprise.

Language Requirement:

-          Fluency in written and oral in English is required.
