Job Purpose:

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of MAG Somalia's projects by ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of project activities. The officer will work closely with program teams to collect, analyse, and manage data and provide insights to improve project performance and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring and Data Collection:

Develop and implement M&E plans for MAG Somalia's projects.
Design data collection tools and methodologies.
Lead data collection efforts, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
Ensure the timely and accurate collection of data from project sites.
Maintain a robust database of project-related information.
Ensure all data that is collected is Sex Age Disability Disaggregated.
Ensure the inclusion of Washington Set Group questions in all assessments.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyse collected data to assess project progress and impact.
Generate regular M&E reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve project implementation.
Prepare reports for donors and stakeholders, highlighting project achievements and challenges 
3. Capacity Building:

Train project staff and partners on M&E tools and processes.
Build the capacity of field teams in data collection and reporting.
Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to ensure quality data collection.
4. Evaluation and Learning:

Support project evaluations and assessments.
Facilitate learning sessions and discussions to promote adaptive management.
Identify best practices and lessons learned to inform future projects.
5. Quality Assurance:

Ensure the quality, validity, and reliability of collected data.
Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits.
6. Coordination:

Collaborate with program teams, CL Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure M&E activities align with project objectives.
Participate in coordination meetings and working groups as required.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Requirements:

Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
Proficiency in using M&E software and tools.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working in conflict-affected or post-conflict environments is a plus.
Knowledge of the context and challenges related to mine action and explosive remnants of war (ERW) is advantageous.
