Title of post is for the role of School Teacher. All teachers are expected to (but not limited to- this is not an exhaustive list- but merely outlines some of the common things a teacher is expected to do): 1. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. 2. Plan and upload ALL lessons on PowerPoint (with the exception of PE) in advance and within the given deadlines (in addition to any allocated intervention). 3. Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures. 4. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. 5. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. 6. Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. 7. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school- applying rules fairly and consistently everytime. 8. Provide appropriate feedback on work. 9. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies and differentiate. 10. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. 11. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations. 12. Prepare required reports on students and activities. 13. Participate in department, school and parent meetings. 14. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs. 15. Update Class Dojo as necessary and communicate promptly with parents 16. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. 17. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. 18. Have an actively working laptop that can be connected to a HDMI portal 19. Exercise an open-door policy for peer observation (with the directions of SLT) to both give or get feedback 20. Observe and evaluate student's performance and development. 21. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments within deadlines 22. Welcome students and create a safe learning space for students to feel comfortable 23. Prepare classroom for class activities and ensure no damage is done to tables, class or any school property 24. Be responsible for a tutor class 25. Attend your duty (break, morning or after school – WITHOUT being reminded) 26. Be punctual. |
